Elon Musk and the Hyperloop

Elon Musk and the Hyperloop
By Isaac E

You may have been missed this due to other news stories today, but Musk aroused curiosity by a tweet that said he received “verbal government approval” to build a hyperloop. The hyper mood would connect New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington D.C.

Musk’s post should not come as a shock as Donald Trump’s administration has aspirations to rebuild the country’s infrastructure. Musk stated in his tweet; the loop would allow you to travel between New York City and Washington D.C. in 29 minutes.

Musk eventually tempered his excitement in a follow up tweet stating he had no formal approval. This was confirmed by a tweet from the press secretary for New York City mayor Bill DeBlasio.

Future of Transportation

The tweet if anything sparks excitement around the possibility of travel as we move forward in the 21st century. Just 100 years ago the thought of traveling by car from Los Angeles to New York nonstop in about a day was laughable. Technology moves very quickly and is moving even faster than it did at that time. This type of transportation may not be obtainable in our lifetime. But, high-speed travel is a likely part of the future of your children.

A video released by The Boring Company shows their plans to create an intricate roadway system. Musk himself a few weeks ago announced the completion of the first section of tunnel. The section would be a part of a hyperloop that would connect Los Angeles with another major city on the west coast.
